Shortcuts exist in the browser and desktop apps. Android and iOS have no keyboard equivalent; most of these actions have a button or a gesture there, but layer reordering does not exist on mobile at all.
Cmd on macOS, Ctrl on Windows. Press ? in the editor for a quick-reference overlay — it covers most of what is below.
History
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Cmd/Ctrl + Z | Undo |
| Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z, or Cmd/Ctrl + Y | Redo |
Selection and clipboard
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Escape | Close the overlay, or deselect |
| Delete or Backspace | Delete the selected media |
| Cmd/Ctrl + D | Duplicate |
| Cmd/Ctrl + C | Copy — browser only |
| Cmd/Ctrl + X | Cut — browser only |
| Cmd/Ctrl + V | Paste — browser only |
Copy, cut and paste work in the browser only — in the desktop app the native menu owns those keys.
Paste takes an image from your computer's clipboard as well as media copied inside Docuslice: copy a file in Finder or Explorer, or take a screenshot, and Cmd/Ctrl + V brings it onto the canvas. When both clipboards hold something, the file copied outside the app wins. Repeated pastes are offset so copies do not stack invisibly, and the clipboard belongs to the session, so copying on one page and pasting on another works.
Arranging
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Arrow keys | Nudge 1 pixel |
| Shift + Arrow keys | Nudge 10 pixels |
| R | Rotate 90 degrees |
| Cmd/Ctrl + ] | Bring forward |
| Cmd/Ctrl + [ | Send backward |
| Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + ] | Bring to front |
| Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + [ | Send to back |
The four layer shortcuts have no button anywhere — the keyboard is the only way to reach them. See layers and stacking order.

When a shortcut does not fire
- You are typing. While editing a text box, keys go into the text. Press Escape first. Bold and italic are the exception — they are meant to work mid-sentence and do.
- Nothing is selected. The selection and arrange shortcuts need a target.
- You are on another page. Shortcuts act on the page currently in view.
