Effective Date: August 31, 2026
Docuslice is free to use and built with your privacy in mind. This policy explains what data we collect and how it is used.
Files you place on the canvas — images, PDFs, and SVGs — are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.
Acceptance of This Policy
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Docuslice on any platform — iOS, Android, web, or desktop — you acknowledge this Privacy Policy and agree to our Terms of Use.
If you do not accept how your data is handled as described here, do not use Docuslice.
What We Collect
- Account info: email address and username — to create and manage your account. Your email address is either one you enter or one provided by Google or Apple when you sign in with them
- Profile picture: an image you choose to upload, and resized copies of it — to show in your account. Optional; Docuslice works without one
- Device info: a locally generated device ID (UUID), device name, and platform (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows) — to enforce the device limit of your plan, improve security, and prevent abuse
- Network info: your IP address and the country derived from it — to detect fraud and abuse, apply regional pricing and tax, and investigate payment disputes
- Purchase records: transaction ID, plan purchased, platform, amount, and currency — to process payments, provide support, and resolve refunds, chargebacks, and payment disputes
- Usage analytics: aggregate usage data — to understand how the app is used and improve it
How You Sign In
Docuslice offers four ways to sign in. You choose which one to use.
- Email and one-time pin: we email you a short code. We store your email address.
- Sign in with Google: Google sends us your email address and your first and last name, and only after you approve it on Google's consent screen. We use them to create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or any other Google service — at sign in or afterwards.
- Sign in with Apple: Apple sends us your email address, and your name the first time you sign in. If you choose Hide My Email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one, and we never see your real address.
- Passkey: your device stores a private key and sends us only the matching public key. Your fingerprint, face, or device passcode never leaves your device and is never sent to or stored by Docuslice.
Data received from Google or Apple is used only to create and manage your account. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to train anything. It is deleted when you delete your account, as described in Data Retention.
Canvas Files
Files you place on the canvas — images, PDFs, and SVGs — are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.
Profile Picture
Setting a profile picture is optional. If you upload one, we store it on our servers and generate smaller copies of it for display. It is used only to show your picture in your account — it is not shared with advertisers and is not used to train anything.
Device ID
Each install of Docuslice generates a unique device ID stored locally on your device. This ID is used to enforce the device limit of your plan, to improve security and prevent abuse.
Third-party analytics services, such as Google Analytics, may collect their own identifiers in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
Your device name is collected solely for display in your account settings.
IP Address
When you sign up, sign in, or register a device, we record the IP address the request came from. We use it to determine your approximate country, to detect fraudulent sign-ups and abuse of the device limit, and as evidence when we investigate a payment dispute or chargeback.
We do not use your IP address to track your activity on other sites or to build an advertising profile.
Purchases
When you make a purchase, we store the transaction ID, plan details, platform, amount, and currency to verify your entitlement and handle refund requests. Receipts from Apple or Google are retained for dispute resolution.
If you or your payment provider raise a chargeback or dispute, we may use these records, together with the IP address and device details linked to the purchase, to respond to the claim.
Analytics
We collect aggregate usage and purchase analytics to improve the app.
Analytics data is collected in aggregate form and is not used to directly identify individual users.
Third-Party Services
Docuslice uses the following third-party services. These providers may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies:
- Cloudflare — content delivery and security. Requests to our website and API pass through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to route traffic, cache content, and protect against abuse. It also determines your approximate country and provides the anti-bot check used when you create an account.
- Sign in with Google — authentication, used only if you choose it
- Sign in with Apple — authentication, used only if you choose it
- Apple App Store — iOS in-app purchases
- Google Play — Android in-app purchases
- PayPal — payment processing on web and desktop
- Google AdMob — mobile advertising service by Google (iOS and Android). Ads may be personalized based on your activity. You can control or opt out of personalized ads through your device settings.
- Google AdSense — web advertising service by Google. Ads may be personalized based on your browsing activity. You can control or opt out via Google's ad settings.
- Google Analytics — web analytics service by Google that tracks and reports app usage. You may opt out via your device or browser settings or by following the instructions in Google's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Analytics — analytics service provided by Google Inc. You may opt out via your device settings or by following the instructions in Google's Privacy Policy. For more information, see Google's data safeguarding policy.
Cookies and Local Storage
The web app uses cookies and local storage to maintain your session and remember your preferences. These technologies may also be used for analytics.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data based on:
- Contract — to provide the app and its features
- Legitimate interests — to improve the app, prevent fraud and abuse, and defend against payment disputes and chargebacks
- Legal obligations — for accounting and tax compliance
- Consent — for personalized advertising where applicable
Your Data Rights
To delete your account and associated data, use the option in account settings.
Data Retention
If you delete your account, your account data, projects, devices, and purchase entitlements are deleted.
Your profile picture is removed from our servers immediately. It is delivered through a content delivery network (CDN), which may temporarily store copies to improve loading speed, and your browser may also retain a copy. These temporary copies are not used for other purposes and expire automatically within 24 hours of deletion.
Purchase transaction logs may be retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
Records linked to a purchase, including the IP address and device details recorded at the time, may be retained while a refund, chargeback, or dispute is still open.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including where our third-party providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised policy applies to your continued use of the app from the date it takes effect.
